CONCEPT

We were attracted by the history and memories of the bookstore that lie dormant on Bunshodo land, and so we opened the archive hotel and cafe BUNSHODO HOTEL.

BUNSHODO HOTEL has inherited the role of a bookstore that built a community connected by books, and by combining accommodation with the hotel, you can enjoy a more relaxing stay.

As a bookstore, we offer a variety of experiences, including "Staying with Books," where you can stay with books selected by booksellers/authors/artists; "Books and People," where you can browse an archive of donated books; and "Spending Time with Books," an event/special exhibition.

The concept is "Books and people. A third place in everyday life."

We hope that "BUNSHODO HOTEL" will be the perfect "third place" for you.

HOTEL

The space of "BUNSHODO HOTEL" is based on the theme of "archives" and is constructed using materials that develop beautifully over time.

The beautiful concrete visuals of the Fukuoka Art Museum (Maekawa Kunio), the cultural epicenter of Fukuoka, are layered with individually fired paperback-sized tiles and the stately interior of the guest rooms, composed of classic colors.

At the same time, to improve convenience for guests, we have introduced check-in tablets and smart locks, aiming to create a facility that combines smooth customer service with a comfortable atmosphere.
